BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - A man found guilty of fatally shooting an upstate New York teenager a month after the victim graduated high school has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
The Press & Sun-Bulletin of Binghamton reports (https://press.sn/2mi2OrY ) 24-year-old Andre Lee was sentenced Monday in Broome County Court to the maximum penalty for his conviction last year on a second-degree murder charge.
A jury convicted Lee in the shooting of 19-year-old Scott Wright Jr. during a party at a Binghamton apartment complex on July 4, 2014. Authorities say Lee got into a fight with one of Wright’s friends, then returned with a handgun and shot the teen.
Wright died three days later.
