BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police who were searching for a missing man in southeastern Kentucky have instead found the body of a different missing person.

Kentucky State Police said in a news release that authorities found the body of 51-year-old David Farmer, of Pineville, Monday afternoon along the Cumberland River outside of Barbourville.

Farmer went missing on Nov. 20 in Pineville. He was last seen at the Pineville Community Hospital.

Trooper Shane Jacobs says authorities had been looking for 23-year-old Douglas Middleton, of Artemus, when they discovered Farmer’s body. Middleton went missing on Feb. 15.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine Farmer’s cause of death.
