BROWNSBURG, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say police in suburban Indianapolis have shot and wounded a man during a traffic stop following a report of person pointing a gun at another person.

Indiana State Police say the Brownsburg Police Department responded to a 911 call Monday night about a person with a gun and police were told the suspects fled in an SUV. Officers say police stopped the vehicle, which had two men and a female inside.

State police say a physical altercation took place between one of the men and officers, a stun gun was used by police and police fired shots. Police say a 28-year-old man was shot and wounded and a 31-year-old man was taken into custody.

Police say the female, whose age wasn’t immediately released, fled on foot. She’s being sought.
