NORTON, Vt. (AP) - Authorities say an 81-year-old Norton man who died following an altercation with his daughter last week was stabbed in the neck.

Police were called to the home on state Route 114 in the Canadian border town and troopers found the body of Leroy Patten.

Police say Patten’s daughter, 53-year-old Janelle Stanley, had been living at the home with her father. She told investigators her father had dementia and had accosted her before he was hurt.



WCAX-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2lnGY8K ) the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

Prosecutors won’t say whether anyone will face charges.
