CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A former New Hampshire child psychologist convicted of fondling a 12-year-old patient is seeking a new trial.

Jurors convicted Foad Afshar, of Bow, of sexually assaulting the boy during a January 2015 therapy session in Concord. He’s serving a three- to six-year prison sentence.

Two jurors revealed during deliberations that they were victims of child sexual abuse.

Both were called back to court on Wednesday to explain why they didn’t mention their experiences during jury selection.

Prosecutors say the jurors maintain they acted impartially and misunderstood the judge’s question.

Afshar’s attorney, Ted Lothstein, says the jurors were biased and the verdict was unfair.

Afshar’s family, friends and former co-workers attended the new trial hearing wearing “Justice for Foad” stickers.

It’s unclear when the judge will issue a ruling.
