SUMNER, Iowa (AP) - Authorities in the small northeast Iowa city of Sumner are investigating a fatal shooting for the second time this year.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a 911 call Wednesday night for a report a man lying at the end of a driveway. First responders found the body of 39-year-old Josh Brayton, the owner of the residence.

Authorities say an autopsy Thursday determined he had died of a gunshot wound. No arrests have been reported.

On Jan. 6, officials were called to Sumner for a report of home invasion and say they discovered the intruder, 46-year-old Steven Anthony of Davenport, had been killed in a shootout with the homeowner. The homeowner, John Eimers, was shot several times but survived. Police have said he will not be charged.
