SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police in Sioux Falls say a drug deal led to a car crash that resulted in the death of a high school student.

Lt. Mike Colwill says 15-year-old Kareem Hussein Cisse was killed when the car in which he was a passenger slammed into a tree Wednesday. Colwill says three minors in the car stole some marijuana during a drug deal and were chased by a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old boy.

KELO-TV (https://bit.ly/2lPiVkh ) reports Colwill says the pickup truck apparently struck the car and forced it into the tree.

Police say two others in the car were injured. The pickup driver was treated at the hospital.

Washington High School Principal Dan Conrad says additional counselors are available to students grieving Cisse’s death.
