ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A man charged in a double stabbing in Atlantic City that left a city woman dead and a Pennsylvania man injured will remain in custody until his trial.

Atlantic County prosecutors say a judge made the decision during a detention hearing held Friday for Jose Lopez. The 51-year-old Ventnor man is charged with murder, attempted murder and a weapons count in the Feb. 18 stabbing at a North Harrisburg Avenue home.

Authorities say 54-year-old Bessy Blanco was pronounced dead at the scene, while 52-year-old Mark Richart, of Quakertown, was found on a nearby roadway.

Richart suffered an undisclosed injury in the stabbing and remained hospitalized Saturday.

Lopez was arrested the day after the stabbing when a Galloway Township police officer spotted him driving a vehicle that belongs to Richart.
