NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a street robbery near the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick ended with a man being stabbed to death.

Middlesex County prosecutors say the robbery occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when someone tried to rob Enrique Perez Galindo outside of the apartment complex where he lived on Hamilton Street, which is less than a mile from Rutgers.

The 29-year-old victim, who was not affiliated with the university, was stabbed with a sharp object in a driveway leading to the complex. He was able to return to his apartment but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

The robber fled the area shortly after the stabbing occurred. No arrests have been made.
