PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 42-year-old man was shot after going to pay a debt he owed.
Police say officers were called to a Tempe hospital to investigate a shooting that took place Sunday around 2 a.m. in Phoenix.
Police were told the victim, who has not been identified, went with another person to pay an outstanding debt. The driver who was with the victim said he was waiting in the car when the victim ran back saying he had been shot. Two men were chasing him.
The victim remains in serious condition and police continue to investigate.
