BEVERLY, Mass. (AP) - Officials say a Beverly fire that left a woman dead appears to be accidental.

The blaze broke out on Saturday morning. The Boston Globe reports (https://bit.ly/2m0ykOq ) smoke was emanating from the home by the time firefighters arrived.

City fire officials say the woman’s body was found on the first floor of the home, near where the fire started. Firefighters struggled to enter the home and search inside due to debris.

The woman’s name is being withheld until her family can be notified. Deputy Fire Chief Bill Petrosino says she lived in the home for many years.

The inside of the home sustained about $150,000 worth of damage.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
