MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Mesa woman reported missing over the weekend has been found dead.

Mesa police say Cari Fort’s vehicle was located Monday afternoon off U.S. 60 near Globe and her body was found nearby.

Police say there’s no sign of foul play at this time.

They say a missing person alert for the 32-year-old Fort was issued Sunday.

Her family told police that she suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts.

According to police, Fort recently bought a handgun and sent a concerning text message to her husband Sunday afternoon that indicated she planned to harm herself.

Police did not immediately release any information on a possible cause of death.
