GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Prosecutors say a truck driver has been sentenced to 14 years to prison for hauling 90.9 kilos of cocaine on an interstate in Mississippi.

The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/2mw5m6D ) reported Monday that 44-year-old Jose Gilberto Granados pleaded guilty in October to conspiracy to distribute cocaine. He was sentenced on Friday by U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden.

A Harrison County deputy stopped Granados who was in a tractor trailer with a Texas license plate. Granados was on probation for a drug conviction.

The cocaine was found hidden inside a modified fuel tank on the passenger side of Granados’ vehicle. Granados said he expected a $64,000 payout after delivering the cocaine.

Maria Betancourt Castillo was a passenger in the truck. She was sentenced in January to 18 months in prison.
