NEW YORK (AP) - A suspect fell to his death when he climbed onto a roof while trying to evade officers executing a warrant in the Bronx.

Police say it happened Tuesday morning in Fordham Heights when officers knocked on an apartment door looking for 28-year-old Devon Wade.

Instead of surrendering, police say Wade climbed through a window and onto a fire escape where he went to the roof and fell to the ground while trying to get to the next building.

The 28-year-old Bronx man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident.
