MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - The murder trial is underway for a Manchester man charged with fatally stabbing another man outside a nightclub two years ago.

WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2mGi5Tz ) prosecutors on Monday said Joel Martin fought with 29-year-old Darrell Robinson prior to the May 2015 stabbing outside Club Drynk, which is now called Whiskey’s 20.

Prosecutors say Martin later stabbed Robinson with a knife, slicing through his heart and left lung, in order to teach him a lesson. Authorities say witnesses saw Martin holding a knife moments before the stabbing.

Defense attorneys say Martin was not the person who stabbed Robinson though, and that injuries he suffered happened during a melee earlier in the evening.

Martin is charged with second-degree murder.
