DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man called 911 to report he shot and killed his mother in Darlington County.

Deputies told media outlets that 28-year-old Bradley Altman was taken into custody when officers arrived at the home near Darlington around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Darlington County Coroner J Todd Hardee says 52-year-old Jacqueline Hill was declared dead at the home.

Deputies did not say why Altman killed his mother. He was being held in jail without bond and it wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
