PITTSBURG, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a San Francisco Bay Area woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while she was crossing the street to check on a relative who was involved in a collision near her home.

The East Bay Times reports (https://bayareane.ws/2lShBKV ) police responded to a report of two vehicles involved in a collision and a car hitting a pedestrian around 7 p.m. Monday in Pittsburg.

The woman died at the scene. Her name and age have not been released. The conditions of the other drivers involved in the collision were not available Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle who police say hit the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police say impairment does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
