DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts woman who shot her boyfriend in a jealous rage has been sentenced to up to five years in prison.

The Patriot Ledger (https://bit.ly/2jKEXPH) reports that Jacqueline Scott, of Milton, was also sentenced Thursday to 10 years of probation after pleading guilty to charges including armed assault with intent to murder.

The judge imposed the sentence after prosecutors and defense attorneys could not agree on sentencing terms.

Scott’s attorneys requested 2 ½ years in jail while prosecutors sought 10 years in prison.

Police responded to a Milton apartment building in 2015 to find Scott and the victim, both in their 60s, covered in blood.

Police say Scott told officers she shot the man because she suspected him of cheating, and confirmed it when she looked at his cellphone.
