ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial in the stabbing death of his former girlfriend’s brother, which occurred in front of the victim’s mother.
A Lehigh County judge ruled Friday that there was enough evidence to send the case against 30-year-old Jonathan Liriano-Rodriguez to county court.
The mother of 25-year-old Hector Roman sobbed as she described seeing the defendant push his way into the Allentown apartment on Jan. 26 and strike her son in the chest.
Relatives said there was a longstanding feud between the two men and they had fought earlier in the day, but prosecutors and defense attorneys declined to say what the fight was about.
Court documents list county public defenders as representing the defendant; they couldn’t be reached over the weekend.
