BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police are investigating the stabbing death of a 48-year-old man - the sixth homicide in the city in the past six days.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2jUGgvQ ) that Curtis Lee Johnson is Birmingham’s 10th homicide this year.

Authorities said a friend found Johnson unresponsive and called 911. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead early Saturday morning.

An autopsy found that Johnson had a stab wound to the chest, but investigators didn’t yet know where or when that assault happened. Police said more information could be released later Monday.
