SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A jury convicted a man of murder in the 2014 deaths of a 13-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man whose bodies were found in a parked car south of Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports (https://bit.ly/2lbYkT0) that 22-year-old Ricardo ’Ricky’ Martinez of Santa Fe was convicted Saturday of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Anamarie Ojeda and Venancio Cisneros.

Prosecutors say Martinez killed Cisneros over a drug debt and that Ojeda was killed because she would have been a witness to the crime.

Police found the bodies of Ojeda and Cisneros in a vehicle parked on a dirt road off N.M. 14. They were fatally shot.

Martinez faces 30 years to life in prison without parole.

He was acquitted on charges of tampering with evidence.
