BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A plan to build a new high school in Bozeman has been approved by a committee and will go to the school board for consideration.
The Bozeman Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2kOC3hw ) that the proposal was unanimously approved by the group of more than 30 teachers, school administrators, parents and community members. The $125 million proposal not only covers construction of a new high school but also upgrades to the existing school.
If the plan is approved by voters in May, it would be the biggest bond ever issued in the community.
Bozeman High is currently Montana’s largest high school, with 2,118 students. School officials hope to have the second high school ready to open by 2020, when the student body is expected to reach 2,400.
