TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man convicted of fatally shooting his friend in Marana last year has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Cody William Clark was convicted of first-degree murder in December and sentenced Tuesday in Pima County Superior Court.

Authorities say Clark and 22-year-old Austin Gann had been out drinking before Clark fatally shot him inside a vehicle parked in a desert area east of Interstate 10 in March 2015.

Clark was later indicted by a county grand jury.

Prosecutors say the 25-year-old Clark and Gann were drinking together in a parking lot before the shooting occurred.
