PONTE VEDRA, Fla. (AP) - Police say a boater found a body floating in the ocean about three miles off Ponte Vedra beach in northeast Florida.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified the body as 37-year-old Nermin Hajdarevic of Jacksonville.

The sheriff’s office says it appears to be an accidental drowning, but an autopsy is planned to determine an official cause of death.

The boater discovered the body on Wednesday morning and alerted authorities.

A marine deputy unit, state wildlife officials and the Department of Homeland Security responded and brought the body to shore.
