SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Springfield man is facing charges for allegedly trying to run another vehicle carrying a 6-year-old child off the road and then giving chase to the other motorist.
The Republican (https://bit.ly/2kqCbAD ) reports that Shawn Pafumi pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges including assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless child endangerment.
Prosecutors say the 25-year-old Pafumi ran a red light and almost struck the other car.
He then allegedly swore and made an obscene gesture, tried to run the other vehicle off the road, and followed the driver into a parking lot where he threw a bottle at it and struck it with a stick.
His attorney questioned the other motorist’s account.
Pafumi was held on $1,500 bail on the new charges and had bail revoked in an unrelated case.
