BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 72-year-old Billings man faces a child pornography charge after a fellow church group member found offensive images when he tried to play a religious DVD on the man’s laptop computer.

The Billings Gazette reports (bit.ly/2j8uktZ) Frederick Werner Betz III appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court Tuesday on a felony count of sexual abuse of children. His bail was set at $100,000 and Betz is scheduled to enter a plea in District Court on Jan. 18.

A witness told police a church group had gathered at Betz’s house for dinner and to watch the DVD. The witness reported that when he opened a search engine on the computer he saw as many as 25 images of naked children engaged in sexual acts.

Court records said police searched Betz’s laptop and residence in September and found a total of 864 images of child pornography.
