BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Colton Weisbrod scored 26 points with 13 rebounds as Lamar cruised past Incarnate Word 87-72 on Wednesday night.

It was Weisbrod’s seventh double-double this season. He finished 9 of 20 from the field and 8 of 10 from the line for the Cardinals (11-6, 3-1 Southland Conference). Joey Frenchwood added 21 points and Nick Garth had 16. The team averaged 47.5 percent shooting from the field and 84.6 percent from the line.

Lamar took an early lead in the first half and never trailed, going up 47-35 at the break.

Early in the second half, Tyler Singleton sank a jumper for Incarnate Word (6-10, 1-4) to close it to six, 49-43, but Lamar went on a 13-2 run capped by a Garth 3-pointer to take a 62-45 advantage with 14:17 to play. Incarnate Word never threatened after that.

Singleton scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds for Incarnate Word.
