AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine state police won’t reopen an investigation into the 1993 death of the wife of a former minister, who authorities say killed his daughter in a murder-suicide last month.

Investigators say that on Dec. 8, Daniel Randall drove to his estranged family’s the home in Hebron, Maine, and killed his daughter, 27-year-old Claire Randall, before killing himself.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2jGEAua ) state public safety officials said Wednesday night they reviewed investigative records and concluded Greta Randall, Daniel’s first wife, died accidentally in a fall at Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth. The 32-year-old woman was six months pregnant.

A police report said the rocks were slippery and wet. There were no witnesses.

Daniel Randall was a former pastor at First Congregational Church in Bristol, Rhode Island.
