EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon authorities say a 62-year-old Eugene man may have been killed by his roommates after telling their landlord he was concerned two of the roommates were taking drugs in front of children living with them.

The Register-Guard newspaper (https://bit.ly/2ihN6zt ) reported Thursday that a search warrant affidavit filed this week says Scott Zebro reported his concerns to the landlord during a phone call in July.

The landlord, Teressa O’Caer, told police she then heard a struggle over the phone before the line went dead.

Police found Zebro dead at the duplex three days later.

Court documents say Zebro was stabbed with a screwdriver and strangled.

Amanda McKenna, Jedediah Donley and Joseph Robert Gutierrez have been charged with Zebro’s killing.

They have all pleaded not guilty.
