SHIRLEY, N.Y. (AP) - A woman getting gas at a Long Island station has died after getting pinned between her car and the gas pump after another driver knocked it over.
Suffolk County police say Rosalie Koenig, of Mastic, New York, was pronounced dead Sunday at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Authorities say the 62-year-old woman was pumping gas at a station on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, New York around 11:25 a.m. Saturday.
A woman in another car attempting a turn into the station knocked over a gas pump, which fell over and wedged Koenig against her car. That driver was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs. It was unclear if the charges had been changed in the wake of Koenig’s death.
