RUSTON, La. (AP) - A man previously in custody in Lincoln Parish on a burglary charge has now been charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with a fatal December shooting.
Media outlets report 24-year-old Taylor Keyonta Burr was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center without bond on the murder charge.
Ruston police say 38-year-old Patrick Mitchell was shot multiple times in a shooting inside a residence Dec. 28. He later died at a hospital.
Further information hasn’t been released.
Burr had been booked Jan. 8 on one count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
It’s unclear whether Burr has an attorney.
