NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man who’s been stealing thousands of dollars in perfume from various drug stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

In one incident on Jan. 5, police say the man entered a Duane Reade in Williamsburg and used a tool to pry open a locked fragrance display case.

Police say he took over $3,400 in colognes and perfumes from the case and fled the store on foot.

The crime spree began in November. Besides Duane Reades, the perfumed bandit has struck several Walgreens and Rite Aides.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
