HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Sentencing has been delayed for a south Mississippi couple convicted on federal charges of filing false tax returns.

The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/2iB4Jdw ) that Charles and Linda Bolton had been scheduled for sentencing Wednesday, but that is delayed until Feb. 3. Court records did not list a reason for the change.

The couple was convicted Sept. 15.

Charles Bolton is a former Forrest County sheriff’s chief deputy. He was found guilty of four counts of tax evasion for 2010 to 2013 and five counts of filing a false tax report for 2009 to 2013.

Linda Bolton was found guilty on five counts of filing a false tax report for 2009 to 2013.
