DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware health officials say the state’s flu-related death this season has been confirmed.

The Division of Public Health said in a news release Thursday that a 98-year-old New Castle County woman who had underlying health conditions died last week. Officials say she had been diagnosed with influenza A.

Director Dr. Karyl Rattay says flu activity increases in January and February. She says it’s not too late for residents to get vaccinated.
