SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 27-year-old man has been charged with shooting and killing a man on Utah’s Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation.

A federal grand jury indicted Trent Sowsonicut, of Ft. Duchesne, Wednesday on charges of second-degree murder and discharge of a firearm during a violent crime.

Authorities say Sowsonicut killed 28-year-old Leroy Swift Eagle Murray in a home in August.

No other details of the man’s death have been released.

Sowsonicut faces up to life in prison.

Melodie Rydalch, with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, says the suspect is likely to make his first court appearance in a few days.
