Police: 2 women who were killed inside home had been stabbed

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) - Authorities say two women who were found dead inside a Danville home earlier this month had been fatally stabbed.

News outlets report that 49-year-old Kelly Fears Wrenn and 28-year-old Ashley Lauren Joy Jones were found dead on Jan. 8.

Danville police announced the cause of death from the medical examiner’s office Wednesday afternoon.

Another resident of the home, 33-year-old Amanda Lynn Willhite, was located a few days later in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Willhite is currently being held on drug related charges.

Investigators have not released further details into the slayings.
