FLEMINGTON, N.J. (AP) - A former volunteer firefighter has been charged with aggravated arson in connection with a fire at a New Jersey barn.

Hunterdon County prosecutors said Friday that 52-year-old Kenneth Bacorn, of Lambertville, also faces a criminal mischief charge in the blaze that broke out Thursday night in West Amwell Township.

Bacorn is being held while waiting for his first court appearance. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.

Court records show the former member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad previously served prison time in connection with a 2002 fire that nearly destroyed a home in Hopewell Township.

Additional details on the Thursday fire weren’t immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
