MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Right to Life Committee’s annual rally is taking place in Montpelier hours before a women’s march is planned.

The annual “Rally for Life” marks the anniversary of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.

Participants will march down State Street in Montpelier to the Statehouse at 11 a.m. Saturday where speakers will give talks in the House chamber.

A women’s march and rally is planned Saturday afternoon in Montpelier as part of a series of protests a day after the inauguration of Republican President Donald Trump.

Participants will be demonstrating to support the national women’s march scheduled for Saturday in Washington, where more than 100,000 people are expected.
