FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Police in Fort Collins say one of its officers shot a suspect armed with a gun early Saturday.

Police say the shooting occurred after 8 a.m. when they responded to a report of a stabbing and burglary in a residential home.

They tell The Coloradoan (https://noconow.co/2iYL8zs ) that when the suspect came out of the home, the officer fired several shots.

The suspect was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies. The extent of the suspect’s injuries and the suspect’s name were not immediately available.

Officers found no one else inside the home.
