WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A police officer slain in the line of duty while responding to a domestic dispute call in western Pennsylvania has been posthumously recognized with two awards.

The (Washington) Observer-Reporter (https://bit.ly/2j0YJ9C ) reports that Canonsburg police chief Alexander Coghill presented the widow of officer Scott Bashioum with a Purple Heart and Medal of Honor during a benefit Saturday for his family.

Officer James Saieva (sy-EE’-VAH) Jr., who was wounded during the Nov. 10 shooting, received the same honors. Three other city and township officers were presented with the Medal of Honor.

Officials said 47-year-old Michael Cwiklinski shot the expectant mother of his child, 28-year-old Dalia Sabae, and the officers and apparently tried to detonate propane tanks around the apartment and in his vehicle. He later killed himself.
