PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a male relative has been arrested in the stabbing death of a 70-year-old woman in southwest Philadelphia.
A police spokesman said officers responded to a report of someone screaming just before 6 p.m. Saturday and found the victim face down on the bed in her second-floor bedroom.
She had been stabbed multiple times in the back and had cuts on both arms. She was pronounced dead within a half-hour later.
A relative was seen leaving the residence. Several hours later, the 29-year-old suspect returned to the home and was taken into custody.
No charges were immediately announced and the name of the victim wasn’t immediately released.
