NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Norwich police are searching for a robbery suspect who they say pointed a gun at officers during a chase, prompting police to shoot at him.

Police say officers pursued the suspect on Saturday night after discovering an armed robbery in progress at Harry’s Market.

Police say the suspect used a gun to rob the clerk of an unknown amount of cash.

Authorities say the suspect pointed the weapon at pursuing officers and refused to drop it. Two unidentified officers shot at the suspect, but he continued to flee and didn’t appear to be hit.

A police dog team, state police and other local police departments searched for the suspect but didn’t find him.

An investigation remains ongoing.
