WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal prosecutors say two associates of a South Carolina street gang have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from their roles in gang-related shootings.
The U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release that 30-year-old Joshua Manigault and 20-year-old Damien Robinson pleaded guilty on Tuesday to attempted murder in aid of racketeering.
Manigault and Robinson admitted they were associates in the Wildboys, a violent criminal street gang based in South Carolina. Authorities say Manigault and Robinson admitted that Wildboys members and associates have committed a wide range of racketeering activity, including assault with dangerous weapons, murder, robbery and narcotics trafficking.
The two men also admitted involvement in a drive-by shooting in Walterboro on April 7, 2015, which involved members of the rival Dooley Hill gang. One person was seriously hurt.
