Pamela Anderson says she plans to give first lady Melania Trump one of her Russian faux furs as a token of her appreciation for the former model’s affinity for animal-friendly fashions.
“I’m going to send her one of my Russian eco-fur coats as a gift because I’m designing furs in Russia right now,” Ms. Anderson told The Hill at last week’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) inaugural ball in Washington, D.C.
The 49-year-old former Playboy model and “Baywatch” star said she wasn’t sure about President Trump’s position on animal rights, but “his wife Melania’s favorite designer is Marc Bouwer, as far as I’ve heard. And he’s a vegan designer.”
In 2002, Mr. Trump was spotted with Melania, his then-girlfriend, at Mr. Bouwer’s PETA fashion show in New York City. The new first lady also wore a white Marc Bouwer dress to the 2012 Met Gala.
Ms. Anderson co-hosted PETA’s inaugural ball Thursday along with GOP consultant Mary Matalin. She told The Hill that she wishes the best for the Trumps during their time in the White House.
“I just want him to know that there are people that wish him well, and wish him success, and to find success inside the presidency,” Ms. Anderson said.
“And I wish his family the best, and hope that he can really think about conservation and about the environment. That’s what I’m most concerned about,” she added.
