PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - At least three protest rallies are taking place across Maine by people who are angered by President Donald Trump’s ban on refugees entering the United States and other issues.

At least 1,500 people were at the baggage claim area of the Portland airport early Sunday afternoon.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/2k6d7Q4 ) reports that among the travelers who had to squeeze through the crowd to claim baggage was a Somali immigrant who had been held at the Philadelphia airport before being allowed to continue on to Portland and then Lewiston.

Another rally was held at Portland City Hall on Sunday to call on Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine to stand up to Trump on issues such as health care and cabinet appointees.

A third rally was scheduled for Bangor.
