VERNON, Conn. (AP) - Police say a teen boy is in critical condition after he was shot in the head in Vernon.

Lt. William Meier says officers responded to scene on Saturday night for a report of a shooting.

Police found a 15-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.

Emergency responders took him to a hospital in Rockville. He was later flown to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center where has since undergone emergency surgery.

No one else was hurt.

A firearm was found at the scene. Police say a 19-year-old Rockville man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
