RENO, Nev. (AP) - A western Nevada man is facing several charges after his ex-girlfriend told police he held her against her will and tried to kill her and their 1-year-old child.

KRNV-TV reported (https://bit.ly/2jqB7Qz ) Tuesday that the 36-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, child endangerment and reckless driving.

Police say the Sparks man threatened the woman as they were driving on Interstate 80.

Police say witnesses reported seeing the victim trying to escape from the vehicle while the car was traveling at high speeds.

The victim was eventually able to get away and police caught the suspect after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase that ended near a Sparks apartment complex.
