BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - An investigation is underway after a UAB student was found dead on campus.

Birmingham police spokesman, Lt. Sean Edwards, says the discovery was made about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking structure.

Edwards says the student was found when someone noticed his car had been running for some time.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2jT1St2 ) police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene, and the student was pronounced dead. No additional information has been released about the student’s identity.

Edwards and UAB officials said no foul play is suspected. It appears the student died from some kind of medical event.
