CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A Summerville man has been arrested in a home invasion shooting death in Charleston County last month.

Local media outlets reported that 18-year-old Joseph Lamar Brown Jr. is charged in the Dec. 23 shooting death of 46-year-old John Pritchard at his home in Lincolnville.

Police statements say Brown shot Pritchard after demanding money. Investigators said Brown robbed the house and left.

Witnesses told police they saw Brown dropped a cellphone and a large sum of money while he was running away.

Deputies found the cellphone and determine Brown owned the phone.

He is charged with murder, armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and possession of a gun during a violent crime. It was not known if Brown has an attorney.
