CARNEYS POINT, N.J. (AP) - Police say a New Jersey man charged with robbing three gas stations and attempting a fourth robbery has been arrested.
Carneys Point Township Police said Wednesday that Matthew Powers, of Pennsville, was arrested on New Year’s Eve on the charges.
Authorities say Powers is charged with three counts of robbery involving three southern New Jersey gas stations over the course of 10 days in December. Police say that in one case Powers used a knife. They say he attempted a robbery at a fourth station.
He is being held in Salem County jail without bail.
It could not be determined whether he had an attorney who could comment.
